The EVS extension, available to SCR policyholders, offers enhanced coverage that goes beyond traditional insurance provisions. It includes financial and practical support for rehabilitation, salary continuation, and access to medical and psychiatric care. In addition, for every Enhanced Victim Support extension purchased, Willis will make a donation to Hostage International to further strengthen the charity’s mission.
Mark Doust, Director at Special Contingency Risks, described the initiative as a major step forward in supporting victims and their families after traumatic incidents. “Our Enhanced Victim Support extension is a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to deliver innovative and effective solutions that support post-trauma rehabilitation for victims and their families. Our partnership with Hostage International aims to support and strengthen the fundamental work carried out by the world’s only dedicated charity in this field,” he said.
Hostage International, founded by Sir Terry Waite KCMG CBE and Carlo Laurenzi OBE, is a unique charity dedicated to supporting hostages, former hostages, and their families. The organization provides free, confidential, and independent information and guidance to those affected by kidnapping or unlawful detention.
Lara Symons, CEO of Hostage International, expressed her appreciation for the partnership, emphasizing its impact on the charity’s ability to help those in need.
“We are very grateful for this innovative fundraising initiative from SCR, which will help enhance our work to support those who are affected by the unimaginable trauma of kidnaps and arbitrary detentions,” she said.
The collaboration between SCR and Hostage International represents a meaningful effort to combine corporate resources with humanitarian support, helping individuals and families rebuild their lives after extraordinary hardship.
