Ryan Specialty, an international specialty insurance firm, has launched Clach Casualty Underwriting Managers (Clach Casualty), a new managing general underwriter (MGU) focused on providing casualty insurance solutions for complex construction and habitational real estate risks.
Clach Casualty began operations in September 2025, with its business exclusively distributed through U.S. wholesale brokers. It is part of Ryan Specialty’s underwriting division, Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM).
The new MGU offers primary and excess casualty coverage tailored to the unique challenges faced by high-risk industries.
Its monoline offerings, backed by highly rated capacity, include General Liability for New York Contractors and Owners, General Liability-Only Wraps, and General Liability for Habitational Real Estate.
It is led by Adam Schnell, Executive Vice President (EVP) of Clach Casualty. Schnell brings more than three decades of casualty insurance experience. He joined Ryan Specialty following its 2024 acquisition of the property and casualty MGUs owned by Ethos Specialty Insurance, most recently serving as EVP of Specialty Casualty at RSUM.
