Nick Clay to lead Chubb’s Renewable Energy & Alternative Fuels Industry Practice

Global insurer Chubb has announced the appointment of Nick Clay as Renewable Energy & Alternative Fuel (REAF) Industry Practice Lead for UK & Ireland.

Clay will lead Chubb’s new Renewable Energy & Alternative Fuels Industry Practice, which provides multi-line insurance solutions for both the construction and operational phases of renewable energy and alternative fuel projects and assets.

He brings more than 25 years of industry experience, joining Chubb from National Grid, where he most recently served as Insurance and Claims Partner – Regulated Networks & National Grid Ventures.

Earlier in his career, Clay held insurance broker positions at Gallagher and WTW.

Commenting on his departure from National Grid, Clay said, “Over these last 13 years or so, I’ve had the privilege to work with brilliant colleagues, learn from inspiring leaders and contribute to projects that really make a difference to the energy transition.

“I’m hugely grateful for the opportunities, support, and friendships I’ve gained along the way. A big thank you to everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with both within Grid and our wonderful service providers, (re)insurers etc – I’ve learned so much and had a lot of fun along the journey.”
