Global reinsurer Hannover Re has announced the appointment of Alexander Hagen as General Manager, taking over the role from Vincent Hermenier, who recently became Managing Director.

Hannover Re appoints Hagen as General Manager within P&C TreatyIn his new position, Hagen will be responsible for overseeing Property & Casualty treaty business across France, the Benelux, Israel, Greece, Malta, the Maghreb and West Africa.

The executive has been part of Hannover Re for 17 years, having joined the company in October 2008 as an Assistant Underwriter for Belgium, France and Luxembourg.

Hagen’s is one of Hannover Re’s most recent appointments. It follows key leadership transitions and appointments within its Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) and retrocession activities.

Henning Ludolphs was named Managing Director Retrocession and Capital Markets, and Patrick Horstmann as head of the unit, succeeding Ludolphs . Dirk Heuer will continue to lead Hannover Re’s retrocession activities, and Nora Lisse and Stefan Schulz were promoted to new roles in its ILS business, heading the actuarial and collateralised fronting teams, respectively.
